Accelerating QA Efficiency

Context

One of the biggest clients has complex fin-tech domain with 60+ engineers. The project started in 2018 with micro-service architecture in AWS. Since then the project has been growing, tests suites have been increased with a large amount of high level e2e tests.

Challenge

A huge amount of automated test cases delay testing feedback. All tests were executed in approximately 12 hours. A lot of tests were duplicated on e2e level and developer levels, which brought double support and time execution.

Solution

Speed up a pipeline for all test cases by reviewing automation code and automation infrastructure. Review testing pyramid and exclude duplication on automation team level by communicating it through testers and developer team.

Results

The whole pipeline execution was decreased up to 8 hours. Each area of development (QA, AQA, developer) started communicating testing scenarios in order to divide tests by levels.
